Sugarbloom Bakery supplies original and fine viennoiserie and morning pastries for LA's leading "third wave" coffee cafes.
We're always looking for talented and hardworking people to join our small team, and especially now that we are expanding our wholesale program and opening our own retail space. Ability and initiative will be rewarded with additional responsibility and career advancement.
Our commissary kitchen is located at Verdugo Rd and York Blvd in Glassell Park and is serviced by Metro bus lines 28, 83, 183, and 685.
Bakery Assistants
We are looking for bakery assistants to join our kitchen team.
  • Prior professional or commercial kitchen experience required
  • Professional experience with laminated dough strongly preferred
  • Be hardworking, responsible, reliable, and possess a sense of urgency
  • Possess careful attention to detail and quality
  • Cleanliness, organization, and knowledge of kitchen procedures are essential
  • Be able to bend, stoop, and reach plus frequently lift up to 50 pounds
  • Be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills and good basic math skills
  • Be ego-free, team-oriented, and possess a positive attitude and sense of humor
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and email preferred
  • Must be able to work Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays
  • ServSafe California Food Handler Card required

Bakers
We are looking for experienced bakers to help lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will oversee daily production, help manage the kitchen team, and work with our team to develop new and improve existing products.
  • Professional or commercial baking experience with laminated dough required
  • Specific knowledge of viennoserie, morning pastries, and volume production is a must
  • Experience leading a team of bakers, cooks, assistants, and dishwashers ideal
  • Possess careful attention to detail and quality plus an eye for aesthetic in food production
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills and excellent basic math skills
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and email
  • Be ego-free, team-oriented, and possess a positive attitude and sense of humor
  • Must be able to work Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays
  • ServSafe California Food Handler Card required
